About THE ARTIST

ReiNarDus

is a Dutch painter who lives and works in Sint-Martens-Latem (Belgium). He graduated as a graphic designer but painting has always been his first love. Over the years, his art has evolved from simple cartoonlike drawings to a more realistic style. These days, his interest lies primarily in portraying the human soul. In his current series ‘ HUMAN NATURE ’ he distils strong inner portraits from old paintings of landscapes and still lifes from the last century.

By painting away the outer world of his silhouettes, he creates a kind of the inner view of the human experience. These portraits have a surrealist touch that we also find in René Margritte's work.
